Paranoid Android
The University of Massachusetts’ Front Percussion Ensemble did a percussion-only version of Radiohead’s ‘Paranoid Android’ and it’s so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. You can download it from their website here (if it goes down, let me know and I’ll mirror it). I’m sure Radiohead must be overjoyed by all the wonderful covers there are of their songs.
There are a ton of other mp3s in the Drumline website’s Media section. I like ‘Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor,’ ‘Oye Tu Conga’ * and ‘Malaguena’ so far, which is to say, everything I’ve listened to.
<
p>* Rendered poptacular in ’85 by the Miami Sound Machine as ‘Conga!’, which is the only song in history to make the Billboard’s Pop, Latin, Soul and Dance charts all at the same time, or so a FAQ tells me.
