Don’t visit websites using Internet Explorer

Just yesterday, while reading my webstats, I saw that 70%+ of my visits come from people using Internet Explorer, so I know IE users are reading this. Listen up: there is a very insidious worm out there that has been placed on numerous popular websites, ones you visit every day, that will exploit an Internet Explorer vulnerability to install keylogging spyware on your computer, which will grab your bank account passwords and make your life hell. It appears that organized crime syndicates in Europe have hacked into these major websites and installed this worm. The Internet Storm Center is advising IE users to switch to another browser until Microsoft has patched the security hole and you’ve installed that patch.

I would recommend downloading Mozilla Firefox as your temporary browser. It’s reliable and secure.

Here’s the news coverage of this on News.com.com, Techdirt, and BBC News.
