SHARE ii

Just got back from Share. I had a great time. The vibe was different than last Sunday but the atmosphere was the same: friendly, relaxed and collaborative. There was a featured performer, a guy from Turkey who did audio and video, mashing up lots of lo-fi video from foreign horror movies, television news, stock footage of fighter jets, and what must be an Internet classic: George W. Bush’s head morphing to John Wayne’s. It was pretty anti- U.S. foreign policy. I think the guy’s name was 2/5 BZ. The music got better towards the end of his set, which is to say, once I’d gotten into it. I performed for a couple hours total, using Keyworx. I really enjoyed playing along with Keiko’s music (here’s her website), which was also improvised live. The rest of the time I was performing intermittently while working on my patches,* which improved by leaps and bounds, thanks to Eric’s catalyzing influence. Here’s a completely de-contextualized video excerpt from a couple of hours ago — I’ve improved since then. :) Time for bed.

* the thingies in Keyworx that let you do the stuff with the video and audio. See my previous post on KeyWorX for a picture of a patch.
