Like von Richthofen, I return when you least expect it
Oh, woe, a bad blogger, me. Fah.
Life is full, these days. Mainly, Beth and I have been spending a lot of time together: she doing homework, I playing Ultima VII, side by side on my loft with the pretty lights glowing at the head and foot. It’s pretty sweet. The relationship, that is. (Ultima’s pretty sweet, too, though.)
It feels as if I’m simultaneously relaxing and gearing up for a busy fall. Gunshow’s sketch show is nearing completion, which will certainly take up a lot of my time. I’ve been learning more about website accessibility and usability, applying it to my site and the new Share site, shooting some video for people — most recently, an ultra-short mock pr0n for Jon Daly and Brett Gelman’s Cracked Out show this Saturday — and doing plenty of video art at Share.*
Consume, incorporate, devour
As I framed it to Ryan Sturt the other day, ‘I crested a hill of nerddom/ and saw a great mountain.’ I am dorking out hardcore. Besides my retro-RPG dallying, I’ve decided to learn Unix shell commands, SSH tunnelling, and more miscellaneous network guru stuff. I’ve bought three books: Learning Unix for Mac OS X Panther, Mac OS X Hacks and Yoga for Men, the last being a tonic for the former. One of these days I’m going to buy MAX/MSP/Jitter. And I’m thinking about taking an electronics class (soldering, wiring, etc). I’m keeping my eye on Make and Cool Tools and 43 Folders for other ideas. And I’m thinking about buying Getting Things Done Then I’ma gonna chip my girlfriend. Then maybe I’ll get one of these and dig a fort. Yeah yeah.
Sport: Man’s greatest folly
I Xootr to work every day; I climb stairs. Still I crave activity. I’m not skating enough. I miss climbing a lot. I miss swimming. I miss the woods. (One orifice excursion to a “country club” does not a dose of wilderness make.) Beth and I need to plan an excursion in-state to one of New York’s parks.
Laurie Anderson
Tonight, Beth and I are going to see Laurie Anderson speak at one of MoMA’s Music and Media events. A week from today, we’ll see Michel Gondry; then, a week later, Brian Eno. I’m pretty stoked. I’ve got to put together a good pitch to get Eno to come to Share.

You’re going to chip me?
Don’t chip me. Then I would set off store scanners all over the place.
