rove, o lad

I feel I should mention that at this point I have 17 browsers tabs open: my attention is highly fractured/kaleidescoped. Here comes a braindump.

  • Robert Blake was acquitted today. Older people might know him as Baretta but not me. I think of him as the scary guy from Lost Highway. I had no difficulty imagining the scary guy killing his wife, but perhaps one shouldn’t judge an actor’s real character by his character in a David Lynch film. Blake, amid flinging heaps of vitriol at “friends, associates and relatives who had criticized him in interviews as ‘liars’ and ‘commode scum’ in a combative, sometimes profane news conference,” also said that

>…he needed to find a job but would first go “cowboying.”

>”Cowboying is when you get in a motor home or a van and you just let the air blow in your hair,” he said. “And you wind up in some little bar in Arizona someplace, and you shoot a game of one-hand nine-ball with some 90-year-old Portuguese woman that beats the hell out of you.

>”And the next day you wind up in a park someplace playing chess with somebody, and you go see a high school play where they’re doing ‘West Side Story.’

>”And you just roam around and get some revitalization, that there are human beings in the world, that there are people living their lives that have no agenda.”

  • Feral, robotic dogs are awaiting further instructions.

  • As you may have noticed, phishing attacks are on the rise. I received around 20 last week. Today, I got my first attack pretending to be from a credit card co/bank that I actually have an account with. I headed to my credit card company to discover that they had no no email contacts and no info on phishing/spoofing attacks. Shame on you, MBNA. Get your act together.

  • I can’t remember what word the “Ascertain” Guy fixates on at the end of that one Kids in the Hall sketch. Someone please remind me.

  • I may not blog as much here as you might like but I read like a maniac. If you want more Danfilter, subscribe to my del.icio.us reading, listening and watching feeds.

  • Burying the big news here…I’m going to have a whole lot more music in my life real soon. I am ecstatic.

  • I would love to work at Pixar for a year.

  • I’d like to find a better translation of this David Lynch interview.

  • I feel a big diatribe on DRM welling within me, a sensation not dissimilar to those preceding eructation.

  • All my taste buds are belong to Chipotle. I had such a good burrito for lunch.

  • I’m really liking T-Mobile‘s account pages. Go, you corporation.

  • I’m writing a character bio for Ryan’s Person Game. Soon, Ryan, soon.

  • You can get a Blueberry iMac G3 for $179. That’s incredible. If I had more room, I’d be tempted to pick one up and use it to host a Neighbornode. Still, that CRT monitor’s awful big and heavy…maybe I’ll wait and get something really tiny.
