I am most fascinated by what media are doing to us. For instance, what effects physiological and psychological do 20′ tall faces on billboards and movie screens have on us? I was struck by the chapter in last week’s reading on the role of electric light and celebrity in shaping urban identity. I’d like to pursue this line of inquiry with research in psychological and sociological studies on the effect of images of faces in media.
