Spaceflight Museum in SL

Last week I got a guided tour of Spaceport Alpha by Kat Lemieux, the new island location of the Spaceflight Museum, a Second Life museum and educational center all about, as you may have guessed, spaceflight science and history. It’s got some really impressive information visualizations, besides the mammoth, detailed rocket models, like a solar system that became the set for the first educational machinima video. It looks like they’re going to lend us one of their rockets for the Kids Connect island as an example for our students. :) Thanks, Kat!

Also of interest: Charles Chapman has done a podcast Second Life Primer. If you’re totally new to Second Life, give it a listen — and let me know how if it’s helpful, please.
